Has anyone else seen this? have you been able to do anything about it?

The sympton is that a call will come in and without being touched in any way (i.e. the phone is just sitting on the desk in a quiet room), it answers itself. FWIW, voice activation is turned off.

Thanks,
Paul T

How many rings before the phone automatically answers itself? Is it the same number of rings every time?

Check the handsfree options, it may be on auto answer.

I had this problem with my P900 too - I ended up getting it replaced. Thought I was going mad!

Irritating... but at the same time quite cool... now you can use it as a bugging device. Place it in a room and ring it.

I heard people used to do this with 8210s after a little modification.

Handsfree answering mode in the Phone preferences is set to: anykey.

I suspect what may be happening is that the vibration is somehow (incorrectly) triggering the phone to believe that some key has been hit so it answers.

It is intermittent. It can happen on any ring.
