where should u install the codec supplied in the phone or on the pc
if on the phone ,then where media-documents or some where else
and where should u place the .avi videos in media-videos or some where else
and where can i get codecs for all formats avi.divx,etc

right - install the .sis xvid codec on the phone, preferably in the same location c:/ or d:/ as smartmovie.
Smartvmovie is clever, it will convert video so that its playable on your mobile as long as you have the supplied codec installed. The converter uses codecs on your ocmputer to playbakc the file, and then converts the file to xvid. So you dont need multiple codecs on the phone, as long as you use the smratmovie converter ...
Finally, you dont need to put the .avi files in any particular directory, the player on your phone will have 'browse files' or 'rescan file system' will will search both your phones memory and memroy card, and list ALL files loacted, regardless of location!
