Hi Everyone,

I felt that I've been given alot of great advise from this community so, I would like to return the favour. For anyone who will be visiting Bangkok soon and are wondering about the mobile phone retail scene, well, I hope my general guide can help.

Bangkok is quite a scattered town when it comes to finding electronic goods. You can now find a mobile phone retail store practically on everyone corner of the city. Yet, to efficiently utilize your time in Bangkok (traffic is hell) and be assured you're getting quality mobile goods, the best place to shop is at the MBK center located at Siam Square. This shopping complex is not hard to find. Ask anyone in bangkok about the "MBK" and they can tell you where it is. It is also accesible by the Sky Train as well (the train stops in front of the complex). Local advise - take the train to avoid hellish traffic.

Once there (MBK), go to the third floor to find it littered with mobile phone shops. Here, you can find everything mobile related. Prices are also reasonable and competitive for popular models. The most popular mobile brand is Nokia. Motorolla, siemen and ericsson are ranked accordingly.

The bad thing about MBK is the lack of Bluetooth accessories. If you happen to find a shop that carries bluetooth, it will be over priced. Other then that, everything else is quite reasonable.

Feel free to ask spacific questions and I'll try to answer it for you.

Sawadee Cup! I used to live in Bkk for almost 14 years (I left in 1995).... I used to remember that back in my High School days there, Ericsson phones were the choice of most Thais I met. I guess Nokia is very popular now just like anywhere else in the world. You are right, you can get anything at MBK.... I miss Thai food alot!!! Somtam, cow soi, lat na, sen lek nam, moo sate, yam nua, etc..... makes me hungry
