Well first you should google for there two things hiragana and katakana. These are japanese alphabetes. Wonder y 2 of them? Well hiragana is used for normal japanese words and grammatics. Katakana is used to write down foreign words which can sound as if they were not. For example word pen in japanese would be pen and taxi would be takushi. (if you dont want to be laughet at by japanese say sound "shi" more sounding like "si". Well your homework is to learn these alpabets by heart.(what a pain?). Then we can continue with grammatic basics

The best way to learn letters is to write down about of 20-30 of each and pronounce them each time. When you finished telme- ill continue. Now im goin sleep- 1am already.
