Bookmark topic
Hi,
I haved installed dricer for USB Adapter Poke2.
It was sucessed.
But, I have problem here....
In previous software 1.2.1.15, I can't used "file transfer". And when I use the new version, it still happened. Why? can you help me?
In task bar, bluetooth "configuration icon" --> "sevices" --> "file transfer" , can't work.
But other feature, like fax, dial-up networking, IrMC Synchronization, etc, can work normally.
In "Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood" --> "T39m", I can't find "File transfer" file, but I just can found: (on T39m device)
- Dial up networking
- fax
- inbox
- serial port 1
- serial port 2
- IrMC Synchronization
File in my device (after installed driver):
- Bluetotth serial port
- Dial-up networking
- fax
- network access
- file transfer
- information exchange
- Information Synchronixation
Error report when I tried to transfer data (picture or ring tone) is: "Service File Transfer is not fond on device T39m"
Why? give me suggestion, pls. ( I could to transfer data via Infra red device before)
My tools:
- Motherboard Asus P3BF
- Pentium III 500
- Windows ME
- T39m + driver
- Poke2 Bluetooth Adapter BT009 + driver
Thank you
Brgrds

I think that is because the Ericsson phones does not support Bluetooth file transfers (the File transfer profile).
They support Object Push, and Serial Port, and the T68x also supports Generic Object Exchange.
Then you need software which can make do with that.
Most software just uses the Serial port, and pretends the phone is on a standard (serial) data cable. They should work just by selecting one of the Bluetooth serial ports (usually the BT software creates some serial (COM) ports).
Christersson has a nice sendfile utility that should work using any serial port.
Hope this helps (I'm still waiting for my BT USB adapter)

I have sent email to bluetake (poke2):
...I still confuse about:
1. It means Infra red is better than bluetooth (Poke2)? Because I can transfer picture and ringtone via Infra Red from PC to T39m. Actually, I dissapointed with my Poke2, because in User guide it's shown that T39m can do it, and there's not exception in feature "file transfer" (example in user guide is using T39m, so I assume that with T39m it all can work properly). Give me explanation pls.....
2> I can manage my T39m (with T39m software) from PC using Infra red, but I can't do it with my Poke2. Why?
3> Can you tell me what is the product of bluetooth USB which can do transfer data + dial up that suitable with T39m? 4>. If I'm using t68m/i + Poke2, can t68i/m have "file transfer" in file "t68 device"?
And I have received an email from poke:
Let me put it this way, Infra red is merely a directional transmission method, besides it doesn't need any driver and is getting faded. For Bluetooth, it provides diverse wireless functions and it's non-directional. I apology for any misapprehension our manual made, actually all Bluetooth functions that T39 provides doesn't include "File Transfer", even you use other brand's Bluetooth device to search T39. As to the T68, I tested it(not T68i) before, and it didn't have the file transfer service either.

He said, ".....even you use other brand's Bluetooth device to search T39. As to the T68, I tested it(not T68i) before, and it didn't have the file transfer service either..."
I don't believe him. I have read in this forum that some person have succed did it with t39m and t68.
So,...what should I do?

Try using Float's mobil agent (you can find a thread about it on this forum).
It can transfer files to the phone using a com port, and doesn't use Ericssons Mobile Phone Monitor.
(It supports bluetooth natively, but only using Microsoft BT Drivers, and they are not released yet, should be late 2002)
To use the Ericsson software, you need to have a virtual serial port connection to the phone. Most bluetooth adapters should be able to do this.
As far as I know, all Ericsson software just needs a serial port. They don't use the file transfer profile at all. Ask the support how you make a serial connection to get a virtual COM port.
Then enable that (virtual) COM port in the Phone Monitor.
However "standard" bluetooth software doesnt know how the phone works, so it needs to use standard "file transfer" profile, which the phone doesnt have - so it wont work.
But I guess it might still be able to sync. a phone book if the adapter supports sync-profil, and receive business cards, if it supports object push. And use the phone as dialup modem.
