I have a Dell optiplex with win 2000 pro, the problem is that outlook express does not respond when it is opened, it just freezes. Also occasionally when booting up it will go to a blue screen and give the messsage "dumping physical memory" although it has not done this for a week or so.
I have looked at everything, uninstall oe, reinstall oe. Nothing works.
I have left the pc doing dell system diagnostics to check the pc, which is what tech support suggested as they believe it to be a software problem. It is running norton Internet security 2004 which I think maybe the problem.
I would appreciate any insight into this as i am pulling my hair out now.

Thanks

Uninstall nortons if you suspect it. It can always be reinstalled if its not the cause.

Use MSCONFIG (click start - run - type in msconfig and press enter) to enable 'selective start up'. Un-tick all of the boxes for 'process win.ini, load start-up items etc.' then restart the PC and try OE. If it's ok, you can re-enable the items in MSCONFIG one by one to find the culprit.
