> Urgent help needed!! I screwed up my mmc!!
Bookmark topic
Hi folks! I think i'm in big trouble. I formatted my phone (ngage) yesterday and when it restarted, it asked me for the mmc pass. I entered the correct pass but it says incorrect pass!! I'm 100% sure i entered the correct pass! Is my mmc gone forever?

Put your mmc into any mmc compatible phone and use a file explorer program such as (fexplorer, seleq, etc) and go to c:\system and look for a file called mmcstore. rename that to mmcstore.txt and open it. you password will be in that file.
Hope that helps

Been there. Done that! I tried that too! Didn't find the mmcstore file there! Is there any way to unlock an mmc if one forgets the pass or some kinda error creeps in? My friend says my mmc is useless now!

It is a common fault , did you master reset the phone at all ?
Can't see why you couldn't find the file to view , thats weird ??
I did it on my 6600 but got it working the above way...
I know no other way matey , loads of ppl have done this and the mmc ended up in the bin

You could try formatting the mmc in a pc with a card reader but the mmc password is usually stored in the phones memory c: drive.
If you want to you can also reset the ngage and see if that gets rid of password *#7370# not sure if it will work but maybe worth a go.
or a hard format
Turn off phone , Remove SIM card And MMC card.
Press and hold (3 , * , CallButton(green dial key) whilst turning your device on while still pressing the above buttons.
You should now see the word "Formatting .." on the Screen! Let go of the keys now
Added
-------
Before doing any of the above operations , you will lose all settings ect....

Hmmm....I'm confused! Looks like my money went down the drain. Thanks for your help. I'll try that hard reset. Btw, whats the differenc between pressing *7370* and the hard reset you mentioned? So you have come across people with ruined mmcs?

The *#7370# is just restoring factory defaults.
the other way is formatting the phone system , maybe your best bet ...
Let me know how you get on.
