they use whatever they are being given for free by sponsoring companies that want them to be seen using their products. Sponsorclothes, sponsorcars, sponsorjewelry, whatever.....

i guess they would buy the one they liked as well since they can afford it. whatever is in ive seen a few reccently sporting the samsung d500 which in the uk seems to have become a bit of a fashion statement like the ipod
