> WAP 2.0 image gallery - feedback wanted
Bookmark topic
I'm the lead developer of an open source image gallery,
singapore, and I'm developing a template for it optimised for WAP 2.0 compatible smartphones/PDAs. It looks quite nice on my S700i but I would greatly appreciate feedback from users of other phones. I've set up a demo at
wap.clump.co.uk Many thanks.
PS the template will be released in due time but I'd be happy to give a pre-release version to anyone interested.

@mrao, dsf thanks

I take it the pages look OK? Any suggestions for improvement?
@govigov hmm, dunno what's up with that. Are you able to browse other WAP2.0 sites?

@tamlyn well a sugestion: arrange a bit that thumbs. Put them in this way: 2 on a row, each one centered in a td cell bordered with black color

yeah the trouble is that screen sizes vary greatly so I wanted to make them fluid so they would fill the screen. I agree they look a bit messy though. The default template for the software uses CSS to 'float' each thumbnail which looks much nicer but the S700i internal browser doesn't support that property. I'll have to look into whether other mobile browsers do or not to see if it's worth implementing.

And you can also improve the navigation system a bit :)

Improve it how? This is the first time I design anything for a small screen and i've only been using mobile internet for about a week so I don't have much experience.
Also is 200 pixels a good width for the full size images? The script auto-resizes them so any width can be set (but it cannot, afaik, be set dynamically based on the viewer's screen size)
