I'm pretty sure there are no dual bank memory stick duo's, only the full size memory stick comes in that variant (called memory stick select)
I've certainly not read on any site about the S700 having a firmware update possibility to allow PRO duo to work

Not talking about MSduo PRO as I think. Its about MSduo.

you have to be talking about PRO duo because there is no such thing as a non PRO duo greater than 128mb as the memory stick technology of non PRO duo and non PRO standard memory stick is limited to 128mb maximum. This is why the PRO cards where developed

Well I heard from MobileReview that there WILL indeed be a MSD (not pro) of 256mbs.

its totally not possible unless its the 2 banks of 128mb in the one card, i.e. memory stick select
its also why the full size memory stick select has been around for 4 years or so and there has been no further development in that area because the limit of the original memory stick technology has been reached
when these memory stick topics come up I go around all the sites checking if these have been announced
for example
http://www.memorystick.org
http://www.memorystick.com
sandisk
lexar
etc and no manufacturer seems yet to have announced these duo cards in the select fomrat and indeed the are concentrating on increasing the PRO capacities
I did a google and a search of mobile-review and didn't find anything that you mention so could you please post a link for us to see?

Meaning:
I tried with 256mb, it works normally, except for the pics and animations, if you have a lot of folders, and pics in ur phone then its so slow, but it actually works but can get the normal speed, I think its up to software.
Not so precise translation but you'll get the picture.

well its difficult to argue with a single post in a foreign language and I can only assume that the posts following that one are saying much the same as I am saying here?
anyway, I can only repeat that there is no such thing as a 256mb memory stick duo that is not a PRO memory stick (check all the manufacturer web sites that I linked to previously, and ebay etc) although some online sites describe something they are selling as duo but when you see the picture of what they are selling its clearly a PRO duo.
Similarly no one has posted on any site I read about firmware that can support PRO memory sticks so I can only assume the poster you quote is giving false information
I'll leave this now for anyone who has succeeded in any of this to post as there is not much more I can add. We were all surprised when the P910 firmware became available for the P900 to provide PRO compatibility so you never know
