i have a sony ericsson t226 and on my screen it has the voicemail icon but i don't have a voicemail and it won't go away can anybody help?

If that doesn't work remove the battry and leave it out for a few hours...that should erase any temporary memory the phone has.

It depends on what type of contract you are on. If you are on one of the entry-level contracts, the chances are that you will be paying to access your voicemail. On the higher type of contacts, voicemail access are for free.
