Has anyone with a communicam tried it out on a T68 with voicestream? I was wondering if you were able to send the pictures via email gateway to someone or another T68? Also does the communicam use a charger of any kind or totally take its power from the phone? I like the idea of snapping shots while I'm and and about but not having to lug my digital camera and also being able to email them to friends. Thanks for any opinions or tips.

Also does anyone know if an SD card works in the MMC slot of the MP3 player? I know that MMC cards will work in SD readers, but I wasn't sure if it would work the other way around.

I don't have the communicam, but I do have voicestream service and can tell you abou their email service:
You cannot connect to POP or SMTP servers with their GPRS service, but you can with their circuit-switched wap. This means that you would be relegated to 9.6 baud transferr rate.

John,
Do you have your phone configured to send/receive email already? I don't have the communicam, but I would suppose you'd first have to have your POP/SMTP email settings working correctly in order to send files.

I have not setup my POP/SMTP email for the phone, yet I have successfully sent pics from my Communicam. The CommCam store the ISP info in the cam so when I move the cam between phones, it remembers all of the settings and pics.

Bummer, downloaded the manual from wap.sonyericssonmobile.com and it seems that you can't view the picture in the phone's display. I guess this wasn't possible with the current phones when this came out. Any chance that the T68 has some built in software that lets you view the pictures from the communicam?
FYI from what the manual says you enter either a dialup number for an isp or the gprs dialing string with the CID into the camera's settings and then you can send the pix to an email address or an online web album.

I think the new R2B software should allow you to view pictures on the phone display.)

I know this isn't the right forum, however,, do any of you guys have the wap settings for t68 with voicestream + istream setup ?
The settings on the other site don't work. I keep getting an error message that says internal gateway error. I can't even get wap through dialup.

Hmm, they worked for me. Have you made sure you're signed up for IStream service? You'll have to pay $3-40 monthly for it. The settings will not work unless you're signed up for the service.
If you don't want to pay AND you have your own dialup account for an ISP, you may program your ISP's settings into your T68. It won't be GPRS, but it may save you money...

I paid for istream. But based on the knowledge level of the vstream sales people, I better call and make sure its turned on.
Those sales people in the NJ vstream went nuts went I came in with a t68.
I could have sold 5 of them on the spot.
