O2 Music's Wireless Festival 2005. A four day festival for the first time in London's Hyde Park with some of the hottest live acts in music today. The headline acts NEW ORDER, BASEMENT JAXX, KEANE and KASABIAN will perform live at the newest, multi-stage event to celebrate the very best in contemporary and alternative music.
The legendary NEW ORDER will kick off Wireless 2005 in spectacular style on FRIDAY 24th JUNE followed by BASEMENT JAXX who headline the ultimate Saturday night party on the 25th JUNE. Then two of the UK's most talked about new bands KEANE and KASABIAN take to the main stage on WEDNESDAY 29th and THURSDAY 30th JUNE respectively.
A key feature of Wireless 2005 will be the showcasing of some of the up and coming artists currently making waves throughout the underground music scene.
Friday 24th June
Joining legendary headliners NEW ORDER on the main stage will be multi-faceted musical maverick MOBY, US chart sensations THE BRAVERY, ex Blur man and all-round indie hero GRAHM COXON and 'Brechtian-Punk-Cabaret' outfit DRESDEN DOLLS. The XFM Stage will be graced by the compelling and awe-inspiring Canadians THE DEARS and New York art-pop duo FISHERSPOONER. There's also HARD FI, mixing the passion and suburban angst of the Specials and The Clash to great effect and Alt-pop superstar in waiting RILO KILEY.
Saturday 25th June
Appearing on the main stage along with headliners BASEMENT JAXX will be one of the most original voices in hip-hop ROOTS MANUVA. Also appearing are electronic trailblazers LCD SOUNDSYSTEM, funk-rock-dance crossover specialists STEREO MC'S and Mike Skinner proteges THE MITCHELL BROTHERS. On the XFM Stage will be strutting disco-rocker MYLO and dance-punks DEATH IN VEGAS.
Wednesday 29th June
Headliners KEANE will be keeping great company on the main stage with SUPERGRASS. The crowds will also get the chance to experience the epic sound of RUFUS WAINWRIGHT. Texan-New Yorkers SECRET MACHINES will be bringing their own innovative post-psychedelic edge to the XFM Stage where they will be joined by Detroit Songsmith BRENDAN BENSON and ex-military man turned musical storyteller JAMES BLUNT.
Thursday 30th June
Appearing on the main stage along with headliners KASABIAN will be heroes of the underclass THE OTHERS. Very Special Guests will also be announced shortly. On the XFM Stage will be the mighty SOULWAX and their alter ego's RADIO SOULWAX PRESENTS 2MANYDJ'S and electro-clash fugureheads LADYTRON.
