May somebody please help me to get the .zip files to work on k700. I have downloaded some of these files and have been stored in 'others' folder and they are just idle there. Please help.

I don't believe there are any such applications for the K700. I'm pretty sure that Java apps cannot access the file system.

You can't access ZIP files with a K700.
Transfer them to a PC (or a proper SE phone......a P-Series

) and unzip then transfer the contents back

if you've downloaded the applications or games for ur phone. and they're in .zip format, rename the file form *.zip to *.jar and now send to phone, the phone will recoganize it now

Yes, thats a possibility.
Java (.jar) files are often named as .zip when downloaded so just rename the file extension IF it is a .jar file

it would be better if java enabled phones first check the contents of the zip file and search the manifest folder, then they can easily recognize the java contents so new users won't ask this question once per month on these forums
iac, jar is a normal zip file with a manifest folder and java classes and external files (such as images) and nothing more. it's not the phone fault but the website that you've downloaded files from.

Well it is really.
If they made sure the file that is avaible to d/load was named with the .jar file extension & not .zip
