try reboot, if it doesn't work, then check out if the text input in the control panel is disabled.
Sometimes my text input stops working on my p910, if I have had my phone on for few weeks, then reboot fixes it!

Tried rebooting, inner keyboard working fine. Outside one with numbers is the problem. Any setting?

no, if that sort of thing stops working its going to be a hardware issue and not software/settings.
Remove it, clean the contacts and try again

Thanks friends! I took my phone to the agent here in dubai and he replaced the keypad free of cost. Think we can close this issue now.
