Hi all,

I read lots of posts about getting a T68m upgraded to T68i firmware. I also know that the correct version is R2B025. But is there any tutorial regarding the upgrade ? How it is done and things like that.

Where I live, there is no info about getting the t68m upgraded. I also spoke to a service center technician, but he doesn't know how to do it, since sony ericsson is not releasing any official info about the process.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The latest sw version for the T68m MMS software is R2E006.

That service technician can't know much... maybe you should ask him if he know what a mobile phone is

The upgrade is done like any other software upgrade, the upgrade is called T68m MMS XXXX (where XXXX will be the languageversion) on the EMMA II software server. The phone can either be upgraded through the online update utility or downloaded and done offline. So there is no need to have any guide for doing it, cause it's very easy for the servicepoint to do the upgrade.

It seems that you service point isn't actually a service point, just a retailer or something...

The best way is to search the nearest service center/service point through SE web site so you can phone them ask for details...

Could anyone post the link of the SC locator? I couldn't access their website.

Btw cytech, I thought you were working at a SC, R2F004 is the latest sw version for T68m(i)...

yes I'm working my a** off at a servicepoint
R2F is only released for T68i... and maybe some T68m MMS upgrade versions, cause most of the T68m MMS sw language versions still has R2E as latest version. R2F contains very few improvements, only some country and network specific changes, so has probably only released it for those countries that are in need of the changes.

They are a service center indeed... I don't know the dificulties they have to upgrade this cellphone (it just arrived at the local market - to tell you the truth the T68i is not yet available here), but they are trying to help as much as I can tell. I hope they'll soon have the ways of upgrading it.

I don't know if it is appropriate, but IMHO this is the kind of topic that could appear in the FAQ. The Brazilian market is geting into GSM right now, and I think that this issue will be revisited soon, as the ammount of t68m around increases.

Thanks again
