There are much better sounding players than an Ipod mini! Try looking at creative!

it depends on what format you are using to listen to if you convert your cds to apple lossless you will find that very little sounds better apart from the original cd the file sizes are larger than mp3 but it depends if you want quality over quantity

My P900 rocks in music! Especially that I carry .ogg files, coupled with Unreal Player

But, as a comparison, Creative MP3 players is much better than the iPod (personal opinion, I used both)

Cheers!

Yeah I dunno why players in the zen series dont have much hype
I love them.

Ive got a Zen Micro and my girlfriends got an Ipod Mini, the Zen is far better for sound quality. But the standard 'phones are really bad and too big. I suggest Sennheiser MX 550's, i use them and their great. Although for better bass ive heard the lower model MX500's are better although ive never heard them.

@kanwal_diku,

Sound is generally subjective. What sounds good to some, sounds bad to others. It comes down to the way the sounds were recorded, encoding of the sounds, the headphones (I use Etymotic ER-6's), volume, etc.... It is not as clear as some here would have you believe. I would start by getting a good pair of headphones. If you can afford about $150, then the ER-6's are for you. They sound great, and are in ear models, thus isolating the outside world from you and the music. Once again remember, a phone is a phone, is a phone, is a phone. Great that it can play music, but the bottom line is that the P800 is a phone first. I have an iPod Photo, v800, k700, and an s700, and for music, I always go back to the iPod.

Happy hunting.
