I am new here and found out about the Forum from the delema I have, I accidentally run over my P800 with a Forklift and was wondering how I can move my back up file to my new Phone a P900, I tried renaming the file name from .ecs to .zip but it still comes out .ecs.zip I am not computer savy so Please make it dumb proof coz I am.

Since they are different phones, I suggest you try a different approach.
Install everything and in the end try to browse your backup with Backup Inspector software and use PC File Manager software to move the most important files to the phone:

Contacts are in: c:\system\data\contacts\contacts.cdb
Agenda is in: C:\Documents\Agenda\Agenda
Messages are in: C:\System\Mail (note: to overwrite the index you must access the file system with File Manager after a backup when the phone asks: on, off, flightmode)
Bookmarks are in: C:\system\apps\browser\folders\Bookmarks
Opera Bookmarks are in: C\system\data\bookmarks
Jotter in: C:\documents\JOTTER

And off course, go to all you applications with data and try to find where it's stored and to copy it to the new phone.
