Ok guys I’m going to tell you a little story about o2:
Today I decided to go get myself a k750i from my local o2 store, so I walked in to the store and asked the assistant if the had any k750i’s in stock.
To which he replied "yes we have one left, just take a seat while i go get it for you"
So the guy comes back out and shows me the phone and asked how I would like to pay for it, I the reoffered to the catalogue and said that I would like to buy it sim free for £300.
Now this is were it gets interesting, He looked at me and said, "Sorry sir but I can't sell it to you sim free as it just isn't profitable"!!!!
To which I replied " so you catalogue is completely misleading?
He the said “Sorry sir but I have nothing to do with the catalogue” and that “management has decided not to sell the phone that way”
At this point I asked to speak to a member of management, but you guessed it! They were out to lunch! So I promptly left the store and I will never return to that one again!
So I thought I’d give the o2 store in East Kilbride a chance to redeem my faith in o2. But this store is even worse!
I walked in and was greeted by the smiling face of the sale assistant, I Once again asked if the had an k750i’s in stock to which she replied
“Yes we have five in stock take a seat while I go get one”
So she came out with the phone and I said I would like to purchase it sim free, At this point she looked at me like I was speaking Swahili!
She then went into the back of the shop and came back and said sorry "sir but we don't sell phones like that!" I referred to the catalogue again.
At this point she really astounded me, I asked why the wouldn’t honour the catalogue and she said…………………
“Because we don’t want to!”
At this point it just laughed and walked out of the store! I can safely say I will never use either of these o2 store again!
so the more of the story is o2 in glasgow will only sell to you if they want too!

Very true, every 02 store seems to have there own seperate rules. Where you'd think they would operate every store under the same guidelines, they just seem to be seperate from each other, which means the printed catalogue is wrong for some stores and right for others!

dont buy it from any o2 store. it all seems like a con to me. get one from some other store and tell o2 that they can stick their k750's where the sun aint shining (or they can give me one

I have also experienced some 'unexpected' behaviour in an O2 store. Not quite the same scenario, but nevertheless. When the X3 was about to be launched last year, I saw it advertised in an Index catalogue (of all places!)and then I went to the O2 store in Barking, Essex, to see if they had any more info or prices to compare.
The lady behind the counter thought I was taking the p**s, as they had NEVER heard of an X3 and thus it couldn't possibly exist as they also hear about what's on its way well in advance, although they had the X1 and X2 at that point. I told her that there were pics and basic specs in the latest(back then) Index catalogue, and she got all offensive and said I must have read incorrectly! I promptly walked 30 metres to the Index store, picked up a copy, took it back to the shop and showed 'Ms. P.R.O.' what an X3 looks like...
it was difficult to supress any due smugness at that point. Quite funny that, a place like Index being more 'up to speed' than the actual local O2 shop's staff at the time.

I can understand from their point of view why they don't want to sell it...
They have a very limited stock of them, and at the moment you can only get them from o2 stores. They might not be getting more stock of them until next week...
That phone is an exclusive reason to get a new contract with o2. They make a bonus of something like £30 on the sale of it on a £30 p/m contract. where they will make nothing selling it sim-free.
