> Unlimited Free SMS on o2 PAYG
Bookmark topic
Apparently there are o2 genie sim cards on payg that give you unlimited free text messages without even needing to top up credit every month.
I found them here:

Anyone know if this is genuine, cause if it is, everyone should get one!

Sounds good to me so far from what you're saying 50cent... So I imagine these o2 genie payg sim cards have been around for a long time, since when genie first came out... if they've been around that long and people are still using them, the risk of them being turned off any time soon seems quite minimal. I think I'm talking myself into buying one, and maybe another for my girlfriend.
But what I'm wondering now is; do they use the standard o2 top up cards you get at your local newsagent?

After looknig on ebay even further, I'm getting confused as to how these work... It seems they are not standard sim cards? That something has bene "cheated" on the sim card to make it think that a month hasn't passed? I'm not very clear on what I'm reading, as these ebay sellers never give away much info in the listing.
Any idea what this "cheating the sim" is about? I don't like the sound of it.

dont email o2. Thats just spoiling it for everyone.
If you want the deal get one of the SIM cards.
Personally i am not using one, i just think people should get as much free as possible. I myself am still getting unlimited free GPRS even thou I have been emailed and texted several times by o2 saying that things are changed and they are now charging for GPRS. I have only been charged for one weeks usuage in 3 years and that was only august or september last year.
Anyway here is a link about this topic written before

These SIM cards are recent ones because I have 3 sitting here in my room from one time that o2 was giving them away free, maybe 2 months ago i received them. I am not using them as i dont send more than my current 500 text so i dont think there is any point in firing up the SIM card yet.
Guys dont be spoil sports and report like the guy above said.
I remember the days of using a different message center number also to get free texts because the other center numbers did not recognise your phone number so could not charge you, I saved a hell of a lot in those days, pitty the networks found out and discovered a way to stop it.

I can confrim that they are completely unlimtied sms sim cards. With some of the standard o2 sim cards (only a small majority. On the others, it just says "message failed"), if you change the center number (no im not gonna tell ya what it is

), you can send unlimeted texts.
I have been buying many of these (over 70 so far) and selling them on for loads to my m8s.
What is really good about them is that you do not need to ever top up, you can just send as many texts as you want with £0.00 credit.
I was one of the first people to find out the trick, and that is why i managed to hoard soo many off ebay quickly.
The trick has been working for me for nearly a year now, and i believe o2 know about it, but they cannot do anything about it. However, they have stopped producing the special sim's that you need, but there are still plently floating about...
EDIT: Forgot to mention, with these sims it is also free to send the sms's abroad. I found this very useful when one of my relatives went abroad to Spain, must have saved loads!
