Guys,

I just want some honest advice! I have been using SE phones for a long period of time (T610, K700i), and I am used to the menu and stuff. It is fair to say that it is by far the best menu system (K700i) amongst all the other available phones!

My question is: is K750i worth upgrading from my K700i? Any irresistible reasons in this case? Or should I wait for W800i?

Thanks

K750i is a great phone with all cool stuff in it. But if u r music jockey then w800 wud b a better option. :-) This message was posted from a WAP device

It's a long time since I had a K700, but a mate of mine had his for a year or so before he got his K750 yesterday. He said, straight away when he turned it on, that it was most definatly worth the change. But if you want to use your phone as a MP3 player you ought to wait. The 750 is set up as a picture and camera phone whilst the W800 will be equally set up for storing and playing music. This message was posted from a WAP device

I don't really get that everyone is quoting music as a reason to wait for the W800.

Sure, the W800 is targetted as a walkman and although the white paper is not yet available if you compare the specs on the K750 and W800 product page there is very little that is different. The W800 does come with software to rip from CD but this is easy to get anyway. Even windows media player 10 can do that for you these days.

both have the equaliser modes for mega bass and treble boost etc, both have 2mp camera with outfocus, both have the same internal memory and the same PRO duo support etc etc.

I really can't see what all the fuss is about when it comes to the W800 and I certainly am able to listen to music with ease on my K750 and I can do it today! Style maybe the deciding factor for some people but as we all know, ebay will provide us with after market housings and probably there will be one for the K750 to make it look like a W800

to answer the question posed here. Yes, if you liked your K700 you will definitly love the K750 and the change is worth it if you want expanded memory capability and much better pictures

I have somehow disabled the shutter sound but not too sure which menu option did it. I nearly always have the phone on silent/vibrate so that could be it I suppose.

But you cannot lock a folder. What you could do is have a seperate memory card for the data you want to keep hidden and just change them over when you need the info.

Masseur u are damn right, nothing special its only about style ,the only thing missed in the k750 is the flight mode, but if u liked the style of w800 better wait and see @ that time k750 price will drop and it would be easier to decide between them.

Let me just say that you aint missing out on anything if you go with the K750, compared to the W800. Tried both.

Basically, my concern is that:

Other than the looks, screen, camera, memory stick; K750 is pretty much identical to k700i, but in terms of other functionality?

What I am asking is the menu or software improved? Or just 99.9% same as before. To be honest, the change from T610 -> K700i is pretty huge in the software side, like faster, easier to sms, more customizable ... etc? I am looking for some advice in terms of the software side of K750i over K700i!
