> Prepaid SIM in Moscow?

Hello all! I'm traveling to Moscow for a few weeks in early July. I was looking for input with regard to prepaid SIMs as I will need to use a phone locally while I'm there, and don't need roaming charges from the USA. My questions are: does anyone know where I should go to get one? What should I expect to pay? and do I need a quad band phone to work in Moscow, or will one with 1800 mhz suffice.

Regarding pre-paid SIM in Moscow. We have three GSM providers in Msk - Beeline (www.beeline.ru - the site only in Russian, sorry), MTS (http://www.mtsgsm.com/) and MegaFon (http://www.megafonmoscow.ru/english/)
All three have a 900/1800 network but Megafon uses also eGSM - 890Mhz, so you will need preferably a quad-band phone as a 850/1800/1900 phone might not work correctly. If you choose to leave your phone, then Beeline might be the best choice otherwise MTS and Beeline have the best coverage and Megafon has the best rates.
Now regarding pre-paid rates and plans:
Beeline:
Bee+Time - incoming from other mobile networks (local) 0$; outgoing to Beeline 0.11$; all other outgoing and incoming (non-mobile) 0.22$
Bee+Boom - incoming from other mobile networks (local) 0$; outgoing to Beeline and all other outgoing and incoming (non-mobile) 0.16$(first minute), 0.08$ (second minute), 0.04$(third minute).

Please note 1) that all prices of BEELINE and MTS are excluding VAT 18% 2) You will need to ask a local friend to go with you with his passport (Russian local) to fill in the application form for the pre-paid contract 3) Exchange rate is about 28 rubles for 1 USD

On a side note, if you or anyone around here will be in Moscow on 11 July, come out to the Hard Rock Cafe on Arbat. I'll be performing there that night with the Red Elvises. Good stuff.
