> K750 profiles missing functionality
Bookmark topic
Hi all,
I am very sorry to see that in K750 profiles, you can not set Ringtone nor Message alert!
The K700 and the T610 could do this!
I normally switch to Office profile when I come to work, and I would like a click sound for new SMS's in the Office profile! If at least I could set the Message alert volume lower in the profile, but you cant!
Bad move SE, very bad move!

It sounds obvious, but have you tried editing the profiles ?

Ringtone and Message alert is gone from the Edit Profiles menu!
Hope they add it back in a later software update!

But surely you can use a different ringtone by simply going into settings and assigning a new one, rather than assigning it to the profile ?
Plus you can assign a ringtone to each contact. Maybe SE thought that because you can do this, the profile ringtone wasnt necessary ?

Of course you can set Ringtone and Message Alert. But as I said, I want different ones in my Office profile than in my normal profile!
Why remove such a functionality? Stupid move by SE!
Actually I would like them to expand it instead: Add the posibility to attach a profile to an appointment. This way it can switch to my Meeting Profile automatically when im in a meeting! Would be really cool!
Then it could switch back to old profile again (say Office Profile) when meeting is over!

not sure about message alert but you can set up a custom ringtone for each contact. so if there was customisable ringtones for profiles then would those over-ride the contacts ringtone?? would be confusing me thinks

JKay:
I havn't a K750 (just a K700). Even if I have such an option in Edit Profile, if I switch to a Profile different from Normal and then go to change the Default Ringtone, as soon as I choose the new one, the phone alerts me that the Profile was updated.
I believe that the same should be applicable with K750: even w/o having the Ringtone selectable into the Edit Profile menu, you should try to change the Ringtone ONCE selected a new Profile..
Let us know..

It doesn´t work like that. It is indeed missing the option of setting individual ringers per profile.. should just be a FW thing to get right though.
