how do u format the p900?
i've read so much about the jog-dial up *, down down, *, down * but no place has actually explained it.
tried doing that, but haven't really found it out how?
Do i need to keep the jog-dial pressed while scrolling it up and down ? keep the jog-dial pressed while pressing the * key? should i simply scroll and not press the jog-dial?
What do i need to do? I've tried so many combinations. My phone's screwed. I send some mp3's via bluetooth, and the memory (internal) got full, i accidentally somehow managed to lose the screen where i could either delete or move the files, now the touch screen won't work. I tried accessing the file manager and tried deleting a few files, however i just couldnt manage to delete the files either.
What happens is, i select The internal storage, then select the file through select all. then somehow manage to go to click on delete, when i do so, it askes me for my confirmation to delete or not.
yes/no (However i just cant move to press yes, the keypad doesn't seem to allow me to do so.
I can't receive any calls either
Help
Best Regards
Amit

jog-dial up *, down down, *, down * is correct,
After that select "3. Service functions" and it will ask if you want to format the internal disk. Choose yes and it will restart and give warning about disk corrupt or something, just press OK
edit: wait, you said the touch screen doesn't work? is it because of you copying the files? Let me know if the touch screen works after reformat.

hello,
thats the issue, so i don't need to keep the jog dial pressed.
Now when i jog dial up, how much do i turn it upwards? and how much downwards?
When i turn it upwards or downwards basically it rotates around the shortcut menu.
That's the issue. I haven't got past this yet. The Flip is closed
Best Regards

Just move the jog dial like you use it in the menus. Move it once up, *, once down, and so on

ITs a secret combination, it dosnt say "secret code begun" or something when you being.
Here, lets try this
Move the jog dial 'up' one notch/click
Press the * key (under the 7)
Move the jog dial 'down' one notch/click
Move the jog dial 'down' one notch/click
Press the * key (under the 7)
Move the jog dial 'down' one notch/click
Press the * key (under the 7)
If this dosnt work you are either..
Moving the jog dial in the wrong direction
Moving the jog dial too many notches/clicks
Pressing 5 instead of *
Your phone is borked

Also to clear up. The P900 is a touch screen phone, you press on the word YES to confirm you want to delete a file.
Also the jog dial. It moves
Up (towards the sky)
Down (towards your feet)
Forward (towards you)
Away (away from you)
In (press it into the phone like a button)
Thats it, I cant say Ive known anyone who has trouble getting the service menu, assuming your phones keys all work.
As you enter the code you will see a * appear on screen each time you press *. Thats fine, dont do anything, just continue entering the code.
