My K750i's earpiece no longer works as of this morning. I receieve calls fine, the ringtones and sms sounds are all working, but as soon as I answer the call, although it is connected, I cant hear anything.

This is a pretty serious fault, unlike random crashes or freezes which are to be expected with any new phone, so I was just wondering if I am the only one to have experienced this?

What, you can use it as a phone as well?!

I've been too busy taking pictures, listening to the radio and watching video clips to try calling anyone

Take it back to where you got it. They should replace it straight out. In the mean time try using the hands free kit as that should work This message was posted from a S700

This might sound pretty obvious, but have you tried restarting the phone ? i know many people never turn their phones off.

My K700i acts weird like that sometimes, which freaks you out at first until you restart the phone and it fixes itself.

Before returning the phone if that does not fix it, a master reset might fix the problem, rather than instantly assuming the phone is faulty.

maybe you're in a place with a low signal strength...well just maybe..... yeah, try restarting it aswell.
better yet, take it to the nearest service centre if the problem persists.

@chaser81

Sorry if I'm being slightly off subject here, but my K700i did exactly the same when i got it in May of 2004. I think it was also the first batch of the k700i's to be released. The earpiece wasn't working at all when u got an incoming call or made an outgoing one, although it worked fine in the phone's service menu test. A firmware upgrade did not correct this nor did a master reset. The phone was then declared to be faulty. This is why I'm thinking of waiting a few months b4 getting my K750i especially after reading u're thread!

I think Etaab is rite. Try reboot / resets. >>>> Anyway, except for P800 I ve at tines faced such things since T310 to S700. Which ve been varied n many. >>>> Mostly the delicate SE's that they are get damaged easy if they fall. >>>> Orwise tis a mix fcuk up between poor GSM netwrks & sloppy firmware [and am being candid] This message was posted from a S700

Try the speaker in the hidden menu, if it does not work there it is probably broken.
U could also try to reset your user settings in the menu (no master reset).

If this does not help u will have to bring it in for repear.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear that. There is nothing more aggrevating than when you brand new toy does not work. I hope you will get it replaced without a hitch.
