ok so i heard about all the fuss with p800/900 and thought i had to check one out, i have waited this long as i dont have much money.
anyhow on with the questions.
1. Is there a way to put your background so that it fills the whole length of the p800 screen in keypad off mode or will it only work with keypad on mode?
2. I have downloaded sman 1.4 and love it, i was wondering, when looking through all the hidden apps that are running i see Eiksrvbackd.... running at 504k, thats alot of memory and I was wondering whether I can close it or if it is a critical app that is needed for the phone not 2 blow up or something.
3. when looking at the tak manager in sMan you get your free memory % at the bottom, is that % number the % of free memory, or % of used memory? whats a good ammount to have?
4. I have downloaded eDoom and installed it on the p800 but it says it needs the wad files, now i have the wad files on my pc but I dont know how to transfer them accross and I was wondering when I do transfer them accross wher r they stored?
5. Ok the biggest thing that is PISSING me off is tha application menu. I want to be able to arrange it myself but I know no way of doing it, any apps out there that sort it out or am i just retarded?
6. I am on 02, I am having some trouble with GPRS with them, i know it works and stuff, but I tried to update my anti virus software which I have downloaded and use the MSN app, and they both hang and I get no transfer of data, is this O2 or is it my set up?
ok i am sure I will think of lots more problems that you techie gurus can help me with, but thats all for now. Good luck and I hope people know some solutions

1. No. Download a trail version of Tracker and it creates a "pc-desktop". Pretty cool app, unfortunately not for free but you can test it for a while.
2. As said before, vital, do not touch.
3. Try to leave about 2 mb free so your apps can work in a reasonably timely fashion.
Install games and various apps on d:
Install stuff like operabrowser, sman, tracker on c:
Move most pics, mp3s & vids to d:
4. Doesn't the cradle work here?
Not sure which folder you should copy it to though. Sorry.
5. Not possible, but again, with tracker you can make many different types of 'desktops' with all kinds of shortcuts.
6. Virussoftware for mobiles to me is a waste of space. But to each his own ofcourse

yes for the P800 i think its object push. make sure the p8 is paired with your PC. right click the wad file and just send it to your P800.

ok i got my doom workin so im happy bout that, i also got my internet workin through gprs although its pritty slow, does it take people about 30seconds to load up say the esato homepage on their browsers, i have a p800 so i dont know if its any quiker on the p 9x0.
How many people here use there p series with the keypad off, i much prefer the look of it but i have found out it is much less practical, what are peoples opinions?

gprs is slow because of o2, not because of the P800.
I prefered the flip
off on the P8, it was cheapy and the buttons damaged the screen too much.
On the P900 the flip is electrical (no damage + it protects the screen) so I like to keep it on

is there alot of difference between the p900 and the p910? also is it really worth upgrading to the 900 or 910 from the 800 as I checked the specs and there doesnt seem 2 b much difference, just a bit more memory.

differences between the P800 and P900 are very noticible.
P800 is dated imo, overall P900 is a much better phone.
more colour, more memory, improved video and audio player, you can even upgrade it to P910 firmware for pro duo card support
http://www.mobileburn.com/gallery.jsp?Id=516
main differences between the P900 and P910 are:
More memory (64Mb instead of 16Mb)
More Ram (32Mb instead of 16Mb)
Pro Duo support (upto 2GB)
and the QWERTY flip keyboard

If you can get the p910 for a good price then its definently worth upgrading.
