> 6230i - problem with email settings
Bookmark topic
My 6230i doesn't accept e-mail settings. If I select Messages>Message setting>E-mail messages, instead of showing settings options this msg appears: "No settings found. Contact your service provider". This doesn't look as a service provider problem but as a software problem. Can anyone help?

Have just got rid of my 6230i as was unhappy with it and this was one of the reasons. Had my E Mail setting send from Orange and also from Nokia but none of these worked. There seems no way of actually changing settings manually and the whole process just drove me nuts in the end. Did you notice they have done the same for GPRS & MMS? The OTA setting worked fine for this eventually though. Are tou happy with the i? I was expecting much more from the camera in particular as all my picture seemed to be veiled in a fine mist...reckon it can only be a bug of some sort as was totally unacceptable....was a bitch for dust as well and tired of taking cover of twice a friggin day...Good Riddance!!

can't say if i'm happy yet... camera well... is better than the 6230 for sure, I went for the i to keep it small (and fast) as the 6680/1 are quite big.
Well after a day of pain I almos sorted the settings problems out thanks also to a long message postet by demaa at
http://www.expansys.fr/forumthread.asp?code=119374&thread=56
you have to start from the phone configurations settings>Personal Configuration Setting>add new... etc
after done that you will se the messages>configurations>email opening up
but all of this may be useless to you at this stage
cheers

Glad you seem to have it sorted. I have now gone for a 6630 on Orange (just put my PAYG orange sim on a handset sold off contract). Am well happy with it. Did read some bad reviews so made sure it was the latest firmware that enabled you to switch off the 3G and to lock it to GSM....had it for a week with no shut downs or resets and very stable...shame about the DV MMC though, at least you get a 64MB in the box.
I tend to change my phone an awful lot but reckon will keep this one for a while (at least till K750 has had a couple of firmware upgrades). Like I say was very disappointed with the camera on the 6230i...was better than on the 6230 but still a long way from what I expected. Have to say that the camera on the 6630 is fantastic and piccies look ace on the phone and also on the PC....also have the option to put on shed loads of apps which is nice.
Whats the battery life like on your 6230i....this was another problem for me as was much reduced over the 6230 and the other benefits just didn't seem to make it worthwhile...anyway hope you enjoy and glad you sorted out your E Mail settings.
