Hello all,
I'm relatively new here, BUT I have used the search function on here and not found what I'm looking for so I hope you don't mind me starting a new thread
I have a P900 that was originally on Orange and therefore has all the branding. The version is: CDA162004/3 R4A02, and the organiser is: CXC162021 R3A06.
I understand that this isn't the latest firmware, am I right?
If I did a RESTORE mode would this install the latest firmware and remove the branding?
Sorry if I'm being dumb.
Tom

nope.
The CDA is written to a part of the disk you cant mess with. There used to be unbranding tools but they dont work anymore/

Hi Tom,
You need the Sony Ericsson Update Service (on
www.sonyericsson.com/uk). Look under P900>Support. You should perform a backup first, follow the instructions to download and run the Update Service (which you will commonly see referred to here as SEUS). This will update your firmware. You should
then restore your backup, once the upgrade is completed.

If you want to keep the Orange branding use the Sony Ericsson Update Service online.
If you want the latest firmware but without Orange branding you need to take it to a shop that does firmware upgrades.
I took my P910i with T-Mobile firmware (R2A01) and got it updated to the current generic firmware (R4A10). It gets rid of branded firmware and it also made the phone fully unlocked too.
It cost me £25 to get done. Took a 5-7 days, engineer takes it away for upgrading then returns to shop. Did where I went anyway.
Ask around at some small phone shops whether they do it.

?5 pounds & 5-7 days...
while we only charge 16 pounds for an unlock & debrand & firmware upgrade + do it in 30mins...
it's the time for me to reconsider the price proposed.....
