A 13-year-old from china, committed suicide thinking that he would meet his friends from cyber space after he died.

Xiao Yi plummeted 24 stories to his death, leaving behind four notes, none of which even mentioned his parents.

The chinise boy’s parents told reporters that the boy was heavily addicted to gaming and acted like someone taking drugs. The last time his parents found him in a cyber café, the boy hadn’t eaten in two days.

While I’m sure computer addiction exists, I’m equally as sure that the people who most suffer from it are missing something in their lives. It’s sad to read about something like this, but worse to think that families around the world don’t look beyond the symptoms to what may be really causing the problems in a young person’s life.

Poor kid... Thats really sad. And now what happens is its blamed on the games etc.

Can't people just have been crazy? Im sure particular pressures in upbringing would have a much greater effect on this kind of behaviour than games...

I think this is similar to people ending their lives for love- I guess when something appears more prominent in life than anything else, you're willing to do anything for it- in childhood though that should have been prevented by his parents; I don't want to blame them though.
