Welcome to Esato
It might help if you had a name/number for the cable.

well it looks like the right cable. Does the connector fit in the phone? If so, connect it and put the other side in an usb port of your pc/notebook. See if the phone gets detected. Doesn't matter if you get an error that the installation failed. Download drivers from SE site and there you go. If the connection is then successful, you can downoad/upload files and even flash the phone.

tanx guys.... the cable will fit since it was created for the t637... i only wanted to know if i had to buy the terminator dongle specifically to flash upgrade the phone...thanks again...
ps ...Dragonfly....u said that i would be able to upload stuff.. does this include images? the FAQ stated that the only way to upload images is with a BT dongle.
the name of the cable is:
USB Data Cable For Ericsson A2218, A2618, T200, T3xx, T6xx, P800, P900
i got it from cellphoneshop.

sorry I have never tried anything like this with SE only with other phones. and yes some let you upload and download various content (games, ringtones, pictures) and some not. I actually don't know if you can upload stuff using this cable. But in my opinion a cable should work the same way as a bluetooth or IR connection.

flashing cable and data cable look identical on the outside, an they both have the same plug (what do you expect?)
Flashing cables are usually labelled "T28". Anything else is data only.
I believe the Davinci client program has a test function which can be used to verify if you have the right cable.
