call your network profider. They'll know how to enable it permantly (example: for vodafone nl you can call to 1333 and then option 1)

you'll need to speak to your phone company. Sony Ericsson P series phones don't have the setting that some other phones have where you can permanantly choose to send or hide your number. These phones use the default network setting and you can only override that for each individual call you make

What about if i insert my card in another phone and switch to unhiden mode - then return it to P910. Is that gonna work ?

Check pages 40 to 41 of your users manual.

Or you could just do this:

After typing the phone number, press the 'Option key'. "Show my number" should be one of the choices there.

Hope this helps.

@CrackerJack, as I mentioned though, thats only for that call individual though and it would have to be repeated for each call made

@Vick, I'm not sure about putting it in another phone as I'm fairly sure its a feature of the phone and the phone is not informing the network of the change. At least thats my experience from trying this on a Nokia communicator a year or two back

When I do that on any of my phones it stays that way until I change it. I was presuming that his/her service provider has this setting user resettable. Oh well...

@CrackerJack, you're lucky then because in all the other threads we have on this topic I don't ever recall anyone having such success.

Indeed reviewing some of the other threads on this topic I have been reminded of another solution

you can prefix the phone numbers in your phone book with *31# as this is the code that forces the network to show the callerid in the same way that prefixing with #31# forces the network to hide it.

you can also check your default network callerid status by just entering *#31# (send)

I tried it on a Pre-paid SIM card that I normally use for testing only. And yes, it does behave the way you describe it. I guess I'm lucky, cause my two SIM's can change the 'hidden/show number' setting at will.
