> Can't set up Gmail on P910i
Bookmark topic
Hi eveyone,
Just became a member of the forum. I have a P910i. I have been trying to set up my gmail account on my phone but I was not successfull. Did anyone have a similar problem? And possibly have a solution to this problem.
Thanks in advance for all your help.

the built in email client does not support SSL, which gmail requires. You can use the regular internet browser to check gmail if you like, or any other internet browser. There is also a program called ProfiMail that many people are using that supports SSL and many other email features that the built in client is missing.
I personally like ProfiMail, but have stopped using it because I find it easier and faster to use the internet interface now that gmail supports basic html browsers. Also be sure that you have enable POP support from within your gmail preferences, no email program will work without it.

I have Tmobile USA which offer free POP3 service, I use their server to get my Gmail. You cannot retrieved straight from Gmail server as posted aboved (no SSL on P900/910).

d the same problem setting up Gmail on my P910i. Gmail tech support emailed me with this response:
"Thank you for your message.
We haven't been able to test POP access with your mail client yet, but
we're working to make our service compatible with as many mail clients as
possible. We look forward to announcing additional compatibilities in the
future.
You can find the latest information on POP access in the Gmail Help
Center. Just click 'Help' at the top of your Gmail account.
Sincerely,
The Gmail Team"
