262k is better, but it is very hard to see any difference.

And 262k also drains the battery more...

But that`s why we have chargers

my S700 is 256K colours
my P900 is 64k colours
the main difference is the S700 is a lot brighter, and a bit sharper, also looks more "real" when taking photo's

Just to clarify:
- 65k means 65,000 colours.
- 262k means 262,000 colours.

Clearly 262k is better but 65k is good.
The difference is not a noticeable as between 4k & 65k but can be seen.

Best example:
Put a K700 (65k) next to an S700 (262k) and u can see a rather large diff as the S7 is way brighter & the colours much more vivid

something funny to make you more confused!
sometimes a screen is advertised as 262k colours, but you only see 65k, but in fact it is a 16.7m screen. Support of colours is handled by the graphics chip and os and not what the screen supports.
so if you don't see the difference between 65k and 262k that is because both use only 65k. Some phones like the sharp 902 you can really the difference between 262k and 65k on another phone.

one more example, I use a Qtek 2020, it's a 16.7m (million) colour screen, but the os (ppc2003) only supports 65k

@vexation
The density (pixels per cm2) has a lot to do with it. Which is why, for example, the K700i's screen looks so much better than those of T630 and 6230, though all of them have 65K colours. Pls take a look at this link:
