....as i think it will fall apart the moment it gets dropped on the floor. Ive had it for one day, and dont get me wrong- its user interface is fantastic esp the activity menu, but the build quality is THE WORST ive ever had for a brand new mobile. The back of it is worse than a nokia 3310 xpress-on cover (not kidding). I swear kinder surprise toys are made of a stronger plastic than that camera lens cover!

I remember the first time i got my T610- when the battery cover fit so tightly and i proudly used it knowing i had something that felt like it was of high quality. Nokia phones creak like mad after a few months but this is REALLY BAD

Ive played around on my k750 for hours and think its usability is brilliant but I'm afraid this creaking sound from the beginning of its ownership had led me to leave it in my drawer. Ive gone back to my moto v620 which is solid. Just wondering 'what if...' the k750 was made out of the same materials as that moto. Another few things have disappointed as well but im not starting- SO SO disappointed.

Thats a shame, I've been put off the K750i by all of these bugs and now this, I think my next phone will be the new P-series, this just tops it for me on the K750i and the W800.

Well me and my dad both got K750i's within 24 hours of each other and both of ours are not faulty. Ok mines crashed once maybe twice, dads has crashed once and they both creak a little bit. But really if all you've got to worry about in life is how creaky your phone cover is you need to think to yourself hang on a minute this is just a phone at the end of the day. And btw my dad HAS dropped his in the middle of a road and i have to say although im happy it isnt mine it isnt really that bad or noticable just a few scuffs on two corners. So overall its a great little phone and after new firmware comes out it'll be sorted!!!

So far i havent come across any software glitches- i think its menus are fantastic, texting is way faster (esp compared to the phone pictured next to my profile! an alltime favourite of mine) than previous SEs. Its cut down on the number of times you have to press OK and continue just to send a text. Compared to my motos v3 and v620, the UI is SO much better.

I was a little disappointed with the camera. There is this big 'who-ha' about the 2mp camera but on-screen it doesnt strike me as being that much better than the moto camera (even though its 0.3mp). However the pics are much better on the computer.

Call clarity and volume are IMHO below par (way below)- the network is not at fault- as its voda. Ring volume is loud but the tones/mp3s dont sound that nice. Vibrate alert is so so weak- so so feeble compared to my old t68i.

Build quality is in my opinion the biggest letdown and if you hold a v3 (or even a moto v6xx) in one hand and k750i in another hand, not even a 7mp camera on the back of the latter added to the list of extra gizmos it has (not mentioning the far superior UI) will make up for the
difference in the materials/assembly.

If you consider the above paragraph and imagine you were blindfolded- im 100% sure that you will think that the k750i is the 7 month old handset and not the motorola phone.

it might sound like im having a good moan about the handset but its just natural to be disappointed when expectations are high. Dont get me wrong- this handset is very user friendly and has got a bundle of features- but it just feels awkward when you're press the joystick and the bendy plastic at the back replies with a creak.

Hmmm. interesting.....

I have two T610's as well as a S710. No squeak what so ever.

Very sturdy and great feel when using buttons or joy sticks. Could be that the K750 was built with less expensive materials in order to cut down on overall production cost.

Let your voice be heard. I'm sure SE staff browses in here from time to time, to gather SE user opinions. Nothing wrong with expressing a bit of dissapointment or dissatisfaction. Maybe they'll get it right with the next K models.

I know what you mean NotoriousZIG. I love my K750i but whenever I press the joystick or Activity Menu button either the "grill" part on the back squeaks or the lens cover creaks!

That is ver disheartening. I was thinking of purchasing a K750i to replace my V800 since I can't tolerate the bad build quality on such a great phone.

I think charges enough for their handsets to be able to use high quality materials and ensure a high level of quality control.

This V800 is pretty much my first new SE phone so hopefully the K750 and V800 are the exception and not the norm.

Is the quality of the K750i REALLY that bad?!
… and to think I was thinking of getting of one!

I’ve got a Z600 at the moment, and I think it’s great, and of course an upgrade to the K750i would be a huge step upwards, although I’m not sure if I want to upgrade to a feature-full yet badly built phone.

If the build quality on the new phones are that bad, hopefully the people at SE will take note and improve the build quality on future phones...

I’ve two questions,
Is the K700’s build quality better than the K750i’s?
Is the Z800i’s build quality better than the K750i’s?
