howdy peeps, just asking a quick question here,
ive looked around, and i know similar questions have been asked before, but this one is for me, so its different
i have a p910i, but because of a small accident ( which can b seen in knights faq on dissassembly and painting) it is no longer with us. on the good side though, my phone was insured for $1200aud, which means i have a pretty wide choice of phones, and my service provider has more or less told me i can have what ever i want, under 1600, lol
but anyway, brings me back to my choices, to go for the p910i again, or a different phone.
i will be getting "hermione" when she comes out here, which i wreckon wont be till next year, but wanted to try something different before then... so any ideas?
i was thinking the xda IIs, looks cool, and would love to try out the wifi.
i use databases alot for work, so something with a database and a spread sheet application would be good, aswell as the usual large storage space and good screen, anfd dont forget plenty of games
anyway, thanks guys, and look forward to hearing form you

I am absolutely in love with my P910, but I have been very curious about the microsoft pda phones out there. I haven't been able to get my hands on one yet. The XDA IIs sounds like a good device, but I would only choose that over the imate jam if the keyboard is really important to you. Both sound like good options to hold you over until the new

smartphones show up. Still, I would have a hard time giving up the size of the P and the simplicity of UIQ.

imate jam? to be honest, havent heard of it, ill go surf and have a look, dont suppose you know of any good forums/faq on the imate or the xda do you?
i can only find reviews, which can be pretty bye3st at times ( pardon the spelling, lol)
oh yeah, and dont get me wrong, i llluuuuuurrrrvvvve my p910 too, just thought it would be nice to have a change, been using pxxx's for the last couple of years, had p800 and p900, thought a change would make me appreciate other phones, and appreciate jsut how good the p series is

haven't a clue on where to go for info on the windows mobile devices like that. If I did I am sure I would have more info to share. Ask Masseur, he has been using a Jam for a while. I believe it is also known as the XDA Mini and the Qtek 10000 or something like that. These devices confuse me because they all have so many names.
EDIT: Also called MDA Compact. Who actually makes these devices that have so many name?

Looked good. Somehow I can't help but feel responsible. Its sad really. Seeing all the black painted P phones makes me happy to have gone with yellow though.

I'm sorry, metallic charcoal. The final pic looks black. Still, same effect, I wanted a brighter phone, not a darker phone. The PDA2k is the same as the XDA IIs I think.

for info on the xda phones this is a great forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/front_page.php
all the xda/mda compact/imate phones are actually made by a company called HTC and it is the various distrubutors/networks that brand then and give them their names - i think i found SEVEN different names just for the HTC magician alone (the imate jam). Anyway hope that forum helps. From my own experience i can say after having played around with my friends imate jam i am VERY impressed. Lovely and small, great sized screen and LOADS of applications availalbe for it. I plan to get one in the very near future so i can have my gps navigation/pda/mobile phone all in one unit!!!
