I've noticed various posts about volume on this phone.
I was out with mine today for the first time and it did see mvery quiet, almost inaudible in a shopping centre environment.

What is the consensus on this? Can anything be done?

I have noticed that while playing back mp3's the volume is not that loud, but if I set it as a ringtone, then call my phone it is a lot louder. Strange.

Yes, playing through the media player isn't very loud, I think its to encourage the use of the headset, if you notice, pressing the music button on the side of the phone only works if the headset is plugged in.

The ringtones seem loud enough to me on volume setting 8.

on the vodafone versions you can't use mp3 unless you ahve bought them though them.

I'm just refering to ordinary ring tones....

(How easy is it to get it de-Vodfoned?)

Impossible for now, unless you do it by taking it back to the shop and asking for an unbranded one of course.

Try using the DRM Packager for the mp3's, it worked on the K700 apparently.
