iv'e found a web-based, msn client, but are there any others (software or what have you) that can be used with the o2 free gprs? any help would be great thanks,

no. you cannot use any messenger apps with o2 p&g.

They will not work as O2 doesn't allow you to connect to servers on PAYG GPRS.

This also affects other web based apps such as Orange Scribble, Weather Reports etc.

Shame really but for free you can't complain

VeriChat will probably work, I'm on proxy too.

It's the only messenger that actually works ! Give it a go.

It's not the messengers in question here. They don't work because o2 doesn't allow the connection so it's irrelevant how good the messenger app is, o2 won't let it connect
