my contract with orange runs out at the end of june, so i decided to ring orange to see what i can upgrade to. i also wished to change my service plan.

i currently have a k700 and pay £25 a month and get 120 minutes xnet, which used to be doubled for six months.

on the orange website you can buy a k750 for £30, on a contract of £25 a month with £250 text. with that in mind i rung orange asking if i could change my service plan to this and upgrade to the k750. they told me that i was unable to change my service plan to anything except £25 120 minutes 100 text, and that to upgrade to the k7500 would cost £190! i thought upgrading was free after 12 months?? so after them telling me that i thought well i might aswell cancel the contract as i would be cheaper for me to get a new contract. the only thing i was bummed about was losing my phone number coz it is such a cool number.

so, after telling them to cancel my contract, which they had no hesitation doing, i received a letter in the post, asking me to reconsider and stay with them. then they told me in the letter they can find a plan specially for me to help me stay with them. so i rung up again, and was told the same thing.

why is it so much hassle for me, already with orange, to change to a plan which i can currently buy from their website??? instead of me having to disconnect to reconnect on a new contract and therefore lose my phone number!!

really? was it from a payg to contract or contract to contract? coz they told me it could be done between payg to contract but not from contract to contract.
