I've searched but am at a loss. Not too techy savvy. Like others, I really want to get missed calls alert as well as voice mail alert. I see there is new freeware with the missed call alert, but am not too savvy about loading on my phone. What I want is an audible alert perhaps every 5 minutes up to say 11 pm when I have missed calls or voice mail. Saw sMan, but don't really want a lot of different uses as I won't know how to configure anyway. Is there simple solution?

Also would like a software that will allow me to sync with sub categories for contacts. I categorize based on type of contact (sales reps, vendors, maintenance etc).

Anyone in Los Angeles that wants to help a dummy set up and fully utilize my phone. Will pay or feed well. Not well versed on Outlook!

Thanks

About your first question, I don't really know any other program to do that except SMan. I am sure there is something else out there, just gotta look.

About the categories, they are easy to set up on your phone. Once the contacts are synced, open the flip, click on the phonebook and in the far right menu select "set folders". I don't know how to do it so it automatically syncs categories from outlook to the phone though. To be honest, I have a completely different set of contacts on my computer and only sync the calendar and notes.

Thanks, did set up categories, but they don't sync w/outlook. So a real pain. Does sMan or other proggy fix this.

How does one install sMAn. I downloaded to my desktop. Should I d/l to the phone? If I do not like, can I easily remove? Do they have a website for Q&A or their own forum?

well SMan should be in a .zip file, so the first step is to unzip it and find the SMan.sis file. At this point connect the phone to your computer and either double click SMan.sis and start the install or send it to your phone and open the file using your phone.

SMan will not cause any change in how you sync your phone with Outlook though. Unfortunately I haven't found a good way to properly map all of the phone's capabilities to Outlook's capabilities.

Yeah, SMan has a pretty extensive user manual that does a pretty good job of explaining things. I believe it comes in the .zip file and is available online.

I'm in northern CA for now, but that will change soon.

I have been using sman for over 4wks now. And yes the user manual comes with the zip file. It is a text file. Nothing fancy.

There are custom contacts programs out there too that do I think allow some syncing with catagories. (Vito quick contacts?)

my-symbian.com is probably the better place (imo) to look at for new software.
