How does it works? Where is it placed? Under the battery or what? What about incoming calls?

these usually slot into the existing sim slot and provide 2 new slots for the sims you want to use. it depends on the phone where they are placed but usually under the back cover somewhere
only 1 sim is active at any time and the normal way to switch which sim is being used is to turn the phone off and on quickly
