from carphone warehouse
You can even use the music player without switching the phone on, which effectively doubles your battery life.

is this right?
sorry if its been stated before

Yes, but if you read his post he said the Carphone Warehouse said it did, and they are 'supposed' to be 'professionals'.

Although I am sure we all know they frequently aren't!

(no offence to any Esatonian CPW workers )

It looks like hes asking us, rather than just stating what CPW said.

Actually, yes it is right. I don't have my k750 anymore because it's getting fixed. But if you turn the phone off the play button will still put music out the handsfree headphones. What the w800 has is the ability to turn just the cell antenna off. So the menus, games, etc all still work.

I don't know if the k750 does or doesn't have any sort of flight mde but was wondering if it didn't could it be added in a firmware update? Or is it a hardware thing?

this was one of the first things I triied, I tried it again before replying to this thread and I have just tried again now and no way will it play when the phone is off.

Also there is no mention in the manual it should behave that way and nothing in the white paper either

so unless there is some special trick other than just pressing the music button (and yes I tried holding it down) then it seems yours is doing something that so far no one else has reported?

edit: @Burgaz, all flight mode does is turn off all radios but whether that can be accomplished just by software I wouldn't know exactly but since bluetooth, for example, can be switched on and off by the user I wouldn't be too surprised if it could be added. Generally speaking though its not the sort of major change that tends to add to firmware once a product is released so I wouldn't hold my breath

Well my phone was defective, so it could have any number of things wrong with it. But I'll double check when it gets back.
