I've heard that you can use WAP with O2 for free, without changing your number! Is this infact possible?

Only by special arrangement with your tariff - data calls are metered, even if you use an 0800 "free" number it can be differentiated between voice GSM and data GSM.

Did 'Genie' promote a special WAP tariff before it became 'O2'?

All I know is that I recall reading somewhere around here that someone was getting free wap through O2, while keeping their number. That sounds like an account that has been setup on the phone rather than a new chip entirely! I live in hope

i am on 02 100 and off peak 50, i get free unlimited wap AND unlimited text too AND my terms and conditions can't be changed like quite a lot of the early 'genie' customers! Good one Consumer Protection Act! Can't get gprs though but it's shite anyway and no use as i have wireless network over pda and laptop and at work too and i can hardly read email in the car. I'm sorted. oh yea the wap works on my 3870 too. This post was posted from a WAP device

o2 wap is free using the dial up number 915000

this no is only recognised by o2 sims and the portal recognises ya caller id so if ya aint meant 2 av a free wap tariff u wont b able 2 use it !

I use that number for WAP but the O2 shop said that it will eat up my free landline/O2 mins.
So only 500 mins free a month!

I got a genie card payt and i get free unlimited wap and 300 all i do is buy a £10 TOP UP EACH MONTH and been told if you go on monthly £15 you get double free text and free calls after six This post was posted from a T68i
