HELP!

i am running XP service pack 2 on my PC and have a k700i handset.

i have instaled all the drivers for my InfraRed adaptor and it seems to work:
the thing is that i can send files from PC to PHONE with ease but there is a problem when i try to send from PHONE to PC!!!
sometimes (but rarely) the phone sends the files to PC but almost always that cant be done...

the phone just says "CONNECTION FAILED" or my PC says that the handset is out of range BUT IT IS NOT!!!

i have a MA660 IR adapter from mobileaction.com

Somebody HELP ME PLEASE!!!

!!!thanks!!!

Hello DD32e,

You mentioned that sometimes phone-to-pc works.Did you notice any diff between how the h/ware reacts (display /msgs onscreen)apart frm wat you've already told.. or perhaps something you ARE or ARE NOT doing?.. An 'out of range' 'connection failed' could probably be on account of
improper alignment of the two
dust etc causing hinderance to sig.,
excess distance bet 'em (I know you DID say thats not it but) try cleaning the bay surface off any grime, hold it around 3-4 cms apart & get back !

If you're using the build-in support of windows it has a option to recieve file from the device without conformation.
I work my lap in that mode, works cool.

when i turn the ir on the phone it is in range ,yes it says that the k700 is in range and the files can be transfered from the PC and then (WITHOUT MOVING THE PHONE) i try to send a file from it to PC but the connection just failes.
so the alignment of the two is good!and there is no dust neither

i think it is a software problem ,the ir adapter supports k700 (it says so on the package) but how can that be when it worked a few (5) times?
i turned on the recieve file from the device without conformation.doesnt work...

and also, i am not using a laptop...

if anyone has any more ideas i would be happy to try.

thanks for trying!

set it a lower value than the one that is set, it might work then...

the setting will be in the control pannel

play around with all the available adjustments on the IR adapter (under device manager), such as speed, duplex, SIR, FIR...

the only thing in device manager that has anything to do with the ir is under ir devices ---> DS USB infrared miniport adapter #3 and the only thing that i can play around with there is the driver (update, roll back ect...) no speed duplex,SIR,FIR...(where is that stuff?)

And under modems i have Sony ericsson k700 irda modem #2
but when i connect the phone a "standard modem over ir link #2" shows up...played around with that ...there are no changes,STILL the link is interupted when i try phone 2pc transfer!
so if it isnt any trouble could you be specific with wich parts should i try playing with in the device manager. thank you...

irDA BF120 Error!

I face the same problem like "dd32e" with my newly bought DS USB Infrared miniport device name BF-120. While PC and phone set (my K300i) keep exactly at 2~5 cm in range, files can be sent from PC to phone set easily but can not go in back way (phone to PC). An error occurs with note that transmission is corruptted or out of range. I believe it is driver problem. Though, I tried at least 10 different sources of driver but still fail.

Is there any good advice from you?
Or, any of you have experience to share me.

Thanks in advance and appreciate all hint.
Nice day to all
