Don't think there is any major difference. If they look different, then thats probably the only difference.

ive managed to understand that 662 is bt 1.2 and 660 is 1.1(?) imho the 660 looks better then the 662, wonders if 662 would work with my old bt dongle, its over 2-3 years old.

662, is indeed 1.2, and 660 is 1.1.

That`s the main difference....and the battery seems to last longer on the 662..

I had the 660, now the 662

So why this 662? just because bt 1.2 ? is it better or something? or just newer. Dont you think the 660 looks better on you then the 662?

Have had the 660 and now have the 662.
Main difference between them is that the 662 is supposed to support BT 1.2, although *all* SE headsets are based on exactly the same hardware anyway so this is perhaps a moot point (I'm guessing its possible the only real difference between them is in the firmware they run since both headsets are covered under the same FCC approval and all SE headsets seem to come under a single Bluetooth SIG qualification so there can't be that many hardware differences).

Anyway although appearence is subjective I personaly prefer the look of and materials used on the 662 - the new black part (which was a the darker grey bit on the 660) is now a very nice tactile rubber rather than the hard and IMO rather cheap feeling plastic on the 660.

Battery life between them is about the same - afterall they use the same battery and any improvements are likely to be down to firmware more than anything else. One improvement seems to be with the battery display on the 662 - it now seems to reduce more progessivly rather than the three huge steps on the 660.

I believe the only real reason for SE to change to the 662 is more cosmetic than anything else - they do the same every couple of year or so when their design direction evolves they alter the accessory designs to match (eg HBH-60 to HBH-65 and HBH-30 to HBH-35)

Right now IMO both the 660 and 662 (and the HBH-300 too) have annoying issues with the current K750i firmware's BT implementation, so I would hold off buying either of these until at least the upcoming K750i firmware update is about to see if it fixes these issues.

In use have noticed no performance difference between the two so I don't really know what the BT 1.2 upgrade was intended to achieve since call quality/interference is no different and the time to connect to the phone is still as typically slow as ever with an SE headset.

As for alternatives, can thouroughly recomend the Jabra BT800 if you can put up with the larger size it has some fantasic functionality and slightly longer battery life than the SE 660/662.
Currently trying to decide myself between the BT800 and 662 so am going to wait for the new firmware before making any judgement - I much prefer the features of the BT800 (the SE *still* has no redial feature for example) but I much prefer the comfort of the HBH-662 and if the firmware is fixed on the K750i then the comfort will be the decider for me.

bluetooth 1.1 can interfere with WLAN and 1.2 doesnt interfere at all... 1.1 doesnt always interfere, but it can.
