In the last cople of days I have noticed that my P910i has been dropping its GPRS connection switching the device off and back on seems to reconnect it, I am on Vodafone UK anyone else experiencing the same problem, and is there anyone with technical knowledge that can suggest why it's happening?

Seems to be, I raised this the other day but thought it may have been a region specific problem (here in Northern Ireland). Like you I'm having to switch the phone on and off to reestablish a connection but Vodafone maintain "there's nothing wrong" at their end

Networks always claim they have no problem but this sounds like the Network for sure.

Restarting the phone often finds the connection again as it performs a new search for it.
Switching to flight mode & back again will also have the same result.

Hi Guys I spent 30 mins on the phone to the "Helpdesk" who's sole contribution was to tell me my SIM was "not registered on the network" (In between forgeting what my name was and what phone I had twice in the first two minutes of the call!)the solution offered was to get me to remove the SIM with the phone on and then reinsert and try to connect to WAP 10 times!!! I was getting just a bit fed up and hey presto they now tell me my phone is registered on the network! they will tell us there is no problem with the network because we have no way of proving otherwise!

Happens often when on a weak signal there is a loss of 'packets'. In a way surely a signal/ network issue. But as you say Nitro, not much possible from this side of the desk. In BIG markets, you need more hue n cry to be heard. Maybe their cell site in specific areas are overloaded or fcuked up. Rarely would the Helpdesk agree to that. Quote:
