hi guys im due an upgrade with T-mobile
after discussing with T-mob for hours reguarding a P910i
the guy at T-mob was telling me that XDA compact is much better phone compared to the P910i the only downfall being battery compared to the Pxxx series. But they also sed that most things i an do on a Pxxx series i can do on the XDA if not than better
....is this true??

he was tellin me that Xda is better bcoz its a a Pocket Pc format and apperantly its much better than the Pxxx series as der is much more available softwre for the pocket pc format.

im really confused now!!! whay do u guys suggest???

they offerd me the XDA for £65 including my £99.99 T-mob upg discount or alternativly he sed i could go for the P910i which will cost me £200 including my £99.99 discount a 12 month upgrade.
P910i normally retails at £299.99 on upgrade

.....isit worth me forking out the £200 pounds
or shall i just go for the XDA??? plz help with ur suggestions

This is a discussion that comes up all the time here. Really its a matter of opinion. We can't make that decision for you.

Obviously most of us chose the P910. I personally like the Symbian OS and the addition of a real number pad, as well as a keyboard. Battery life is great, don't let any posts saying otherwise sway you. The phone lasts days on end for me when I am not playing crazy amounts of games.

The MDA is a little smaller with a better camera and Windows Mobile. If these things appeal to you, then the price is an even bigger bonus.

You can get more software for the pocket pc but symbian is fast catching up.The biggest problems I've had with xda/mda are
- Can't be switched off
- Battery life sucks!
- If the battery dies you lose settings (a real pain when syncing)

It could be a great contender if it wasn't for the operating system.

yeah, but it syncs with Microsoft products like Outlook more easily... can't forget that.

Doesn't change my mind though. I'm happy with my P910, I just think this is also a good product. This is for sure the best windows mobile product right now.

Don't pay £200 more for a P910i - you could get a new (unlocked and warrantied) one on ebay for about £220

Look at eBay .. the mini/compact things sell for about £320

You could make yourself a few bob! Get the mini, then sell it on eBay and buy a new P910i on eBay.

Personally I'd go for a P910 over a MDA because of the qwerty keypad, but not everyone finds it as usefull as i do

£200 seems a lot of money for an upgrade though. Have you tried other networks to see what they could offer you as a new subscriber? Unless you really want to stay with T-Mobile, you might be able to get a better deal.
