> Free O2 proxy GPRS on PC/Laptop - uploading problem
Bookmark topic
Hi,
I've been using this free gprs quite successfully. The best thing is logging in to yahoo via secure connection, then it has been letting me attach files (9/10 - providing all data/pics/animations on each page has finished downloading).
Over the last couple of days, half way through uploading, the windows download popup appears and a text attachment downloads.
It reads:
"
* Error *
Sorry
The requested item could not be loaded!
(Status Code: 500)
"
after receiving this the uploading stops.Doesn't make much sense to me, but Status code 500 looks familar, when using O2 proxy wap and it can't read a page. one of the addresses it contains look like the WAP "guardian Angels".
I've tried it on two PC's and on Pocket PC (which uses a different browser, tries to download attach/remove attachments page but fails).
Is this yahoo and/or O2 blocking something?
Is it normally possible to upload attatchments via WAP (without session cookies)?
Does anyone know of an alternative way of uploading attachments using the proxy connection (another email etc.)?
I hope that someone can help me as it's driving me round the twist.
Cheers
Cebolla

just seen that string of text i posted didn't come out so here it is with html disabled.
"<?xml version='1.0'?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC '-//WAPFORUM//DTD XHTML Mobile 1.0//EN' 'http://www.wapforum.org/DTD/xhtml-mobile10.dtd' >
<html xmlns='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'>
<head>
<title>* Error *</title>
<link rel='stylesheet' href='style.css' type='text/css'/>
</head>
<body>
<h1>Sorry</h1>
<ul>The requested item could not be loaded!<br/>(Status Code: 500)</ul>
</body>
</html>"
also I noticed i could attach an image to my reply, which worked

so it obviously isn't all uploading, just yahoo.

These are only tiny files I'm trying to attach, which worked before but just stopped working recently. I recently tried the briefcase, and it seems to work, so I wondered if 02 have somhow blocked this recently. Some sites like upagumtree.co.uk seem to do the same thing.
I've also had status code 403 once while trying to upload. I looked it up and 403 seems to be a deliberate block from the server but 500 (which i get more regularly) means that they cannot process the info. I tried it as http1.0 and 1.1. Still no joy.
I guess the briefcase is a partial solution but seems a bit messy.
Still can't find anyone who's tried the same thing or is suffering the same problem.
cheers
