I've used pretty much every major broadband provider out there and i can honestly say Their is only one provider i recommend and thats bulldog:
www.bulldogbroadband.com who else offers unlimited 8mg broadband for £29.99 a month with no contract.
And They have an amazing offer if you sign up before the 30th June:

Bulldog is a pretty new company which only started up last year, and they are expanding all the time.I'm sure it will be available over at your end sometime by the end of this year.(I know this because i am currently ding some work for them). If you are desperate in the meantime to switch providers the i suggest you move over to AOL-2 Mg service for £29.99 a month.
Oh yes and they are Apple Friendly!

Fastest current connection speeds (up to 8000+mbps downstream and 400mbps upstream) are provided by UKOnline,
www.ukonline.net, and Bulldog,
www.bulldogbroadband.com, but your telephone exchange has to support LLU and coverage is pretty small at the moment.
I'd go with AOL too, especially now that you can connect without having to use their browser.
