Hi,

A few days ago I bought the HBH-30. I think it's a great headset. I also have a 3Com Bluetooth card in my laptop and paired the headset with my laptop. But I can't do anything with it. Thats not such a big problem, because I'm a software developer myself. But.... I need the API (the (AT) commands) to communicate with the headset. Does anybody have it or know where to find it?

I already made a "serial" connection with the headset and was able to send AT-commands to the headset. The headset replyed with OK or ERROR. So there must be AT commands that works.

So can anybody help me with this??

I think to do headset stuff there are two connections you need to open. One is for control (this will be an RFCOMM channel over which you do the AT commands) and the other is for the audio data (a SCO connection).

I've gleaned this information from the bluez-users list, which is the mailing list for the bluetooth stack in Linux.

I'm not sure if the 3Com BT unit supports the headset profile... this is the very reason I got the Billionton BT USB plug instead... it didn't have the proper audio drivers at the time I bought it, but it was "Headset ready".

You can pair any BT device with each other... but that doesn't mean they support the proper profiles. Take the Nokia 7650 for example, you can pair any headset with that thing, but it'll never work.

From my understanding of the BT chip module, each profile must be supported by both the BT hardware & software stack.

So check if 3Com BT products support the headset profile, if not, then you're out of luck

*Note: I got the new BT drivers for my Billionton BT USB, and it works as a regular headset now... for chatting, voice commands, etc... drains the battery like hell and audio clarity isn't that great... range is only 30ft (normal BT) so I can't really go that far from my desk. It was just fun to play with for a while, and to know I could use it... but I'm sticking with my regular desk mic, it sounds better, and can pick up noises much farther away than 30ft.

not sure what happened to my above post...

Could you please post a link to where you were able to download the software? Also, does Billionton have a newer version of the Widcomm software available? => version 16

@jplacson: I've been looking for someone who has billionton USB. I also have installed their new software and it's great with win98. My pc doesn't crash anymore while using it and the experience is much easier. They did great. However, after installing the 1.3.2.7 software I noticed that there are two new profiles. The Audio profile and the headset profile. I've been trying to make it work but unsuccessful.
I don't have a bluetooth headset (too expensive) but would you know if I can use my t68i as an input audio for my pc? Or, play music in my pc and hear the sound in my phone? I know it's stupid but I just want to know if it's possible.
Thanks a lot.

Like I said, I don't think 3Com's BT plug has all the BT profiles builtin...

Billionton's site has the new drivers... they're more stable, and offer full audio capabilities... you can even use ur PC as a handsfree device for you BT celfone.
