greetings,
I need help in connecting the 3870 to the T68i so I could surf the net using GPRS. I've already tried to search the forums.... unfortunately, they are all incomplete. I'm a globe postpaid user. any help would be deeply appreciated.
Also, I'm still trying to figure out the MMS. Wap works well but I can't send any MMS. (I tried tactel and I did recieve an MMS, but can't open it... sigh...). I've talked to atleast 2 globe CS already. I've already followed every setting that is available in this form. please help.
thanks.

hmmmm...
I'm still stumped.. I've read this manual before and it didn't help. I've also read an article about this at pocketpcwriter in case you're wondering.
on another note, what's the best way to know if your GPRS is activated? If you can WAP, does it follow you have GPRS? thanks again.

@digidog, the best way is for you to call Globe and ask them if your GPRS is indeed activated in their switch. you may also want to check the Globe settings in the GPRS/MMS/WAP section.

@arnold
well, as far as they're concerned, my gprs and mms accounts are up.... I've tried the settings posted at the GPRS,MMS, etc... thread... it just won't work. Is there a way to find out on my own if they have indeed activated it?
re: the ipaw conection, it says that there was no answer at the number dialed (which was *99#). I even tried this one
http://www.ppcw.net/stories.php?story=01/10/19/5205351 (ofcourse changing the Infrared part to bluetooth) but to no avail.
desperation at this point is an understatement...

Guys,
What is shown at that link is fine, but to get the bluetooth to work with the phone try this:
Set the T68i to "Discoverabe".
Open the iPAQ Bluetooth Manager and ensure that Bluetooth is turned on. In the BT Manager, "Search" for new devices and add the T68i, or, if you T68i is already showing, tap on it.
When you tap on the T68i logo in BT manager, a "Device Information" window will come up.
At the bottom, it says "Actions": tap on this.
You then have the option to "Bond With This Device" which you should do if you haven't already. Once you have done this, tap "Actions" again and "Set as BT dial-up modem".
THIS is the critical stage.
Now this should work.
Hope this helps.

I've been having the same trouble with this. I've followed all the guides from Compaq/HP and Vodafone in the UK manual setup for PDA web access via GPRS.
I can connect to the T68i no problem and GPRS connects fine. But any web page I try to visit on the iPAQ comes back with an error "web page cannot be viewed" !!!
I'm stumped, so if anyone can help then great.

The thing important is your dial connection.
Go 'Start'-'Settings'-'Connections-'Connections'-'Modem'-Modify connection
Set the phone number as the way,
AT+CGDCONT=*99#,"IP","Vodafone_Gprs_internet_APN"
This is posted from iPaq3870+R520 Bluetooth, data connection over GPRS.
